It Takes a Village: Taking Action for Healthy Children

May 7, 2015

Online training program for children’s service providers: The Best Start Resource Centre is pleased to announce the availability of a new online training program, It Takes a Village: Taking Action for Healthy Children. The purpose of this program is to address some of the issues raised by the recent report from the Healthy Kids Panel, No Time to Wait: The Healthy Kids Strategy. The focus is on healthy weights in children, in the context of healthy child development. The modules offer practical information and implementation ideas for improving the health of kids.

The free online course will benefit managers and front-line workers who work with children aged 2-11 in the following sectors: recreation, public health, community health, education, childcare and social service. It requires approximately 4-5 hours to complete and offers a certificate of completion. The program is available in English and will be available shortly in French and announced through the Best Start listservs.

Webinars explaining the purpose of the program took place last week and a recording is now available to answer your questions about the program.
